Selecting between Deepvue and Tradervue is a choice between a standalone trade journal and a journal inside a stock research platform. Tradervue covers stocks, options, futures and forex with a free plan for 30 trades a month, but R reporting and exit analysis need Gold at $49 to $49.95 a month. Deepvue wraps a screener, charts, AI and iOS and Android apps around its Trading Journal for $990 a year or $99 month to month, and its Black Friday deal drops the year to $490, locked in.

Tradervue has been journaling trades since 2011, and its site invites you to join 207,623 traders. It does one job: import your fills, chart them, tag them and run reports, with trade sharing and mentor access across stocks, options, futures and forex.

Growth stock traders ask more of a journal. A stock you bought off a screen can take weeks to work, so the stop, the open risk and the setup behind the trade matter as much as the fill.

Deepvue built its Trading Journal around that kind of trade, inside the research platform you already scan with, on desktop and mobile.

Since Deepvue is our product, we took Tradervue’s prices and features from its own site and help docs, and each review quote links to its source.

Deepvue vs Tradervue at a Glance

In the Tradervue vs Deepvue matchup, prices need a footnote. Tradervue’s own site shows Silver at $29 in one place and $29.95 in another, with Gold at $49 or $49.95, so the table lists both.

The Biggest Differences Between Deepvue and Tradervue

Tradervue bills itself as “The Trading Journal to Improve Your Trading Performance,” and it stays in that lane. You bring trades in, study them and share them, while the scanning and charting that found the trade happen in another app.

Tradervue homepage
Tradervue homepage

Trading style

Tradervue’s extras lean intraday: liquidity reports, Renko and range bar charts, and execution charts across timeframes. Deepvue is designed for growth stock traders who keep a position open for weeks, with a stop in place the entire time.

What one plan covers

Tradervue sells its journal in three tiers and keeps R reporting and exit analysis for Gold. Deepvue has a single plan with the complete journal plus charts, alerts, the screener, watchlists and AI.

AI help

Tradervue’s plans list no AI features. Deepvue’s Journal Agent only runs once you switch it on, then reads anonymized numbers and symbols to flag patterns, while the AI Terminal takes research questions.

Phone access

There’s no Tradervue app, so you open its journal in a mobile browser. Deepvue runs the complete journal on desktop and inside native apps for iPhone, iPad and Android.

Where Deepvue Pulls Ahead of Tradervue

Most of the gap comes from two places: what Tradervue holds back for its Gold plan, and what it doesn’t build at all.

Broker Sync Without the File Uploads

Connect a brokerage in Deepvue and it brings in your full history from Charles Schwab, Fidelity, Interactive Brokers, Webull, Robinhood, tastytrade, Questrade and more. Most first syncs finish inside 24 hours, while IBKR can take up to 48.

You can also import a CSV in any layout into whichever account you pick. To connect, you log in on your broker’s own site, so Deepvue never handles your password. One trader put exactly that on their list of journal must haves:

“automated trade import without sharing any credentials with the provider.”

A trader on r/Daytrading
Connect a brokerage list in the Deepvue Trading Journal, with the broker search box
Connect a brokerage list in the Deepvue Trading Journal, with the broker search box

Tradervue’s free plan relies on Standard Import, where you export trade history from your broker and upload the file. Broker Sync comes with Silver and Gold, and Tradervue’s help center warns it “may not be available with all brokers.”

The Tradervue Robinhood guide, written in 2022, has you build the file with a third party Chrome extension or by copying trades into a spreadsheet. Robinhood now offers an activity CSV, but a report can take up to 24 hours and you still upload it yourself.

Deepvue brings in Robinhood trades through broker sync, the same as every name on its supported brokers list, so new fills arrive without a file.

R Multiples and Exit Stats Without a Gold Upgrade

Tradervue saves its sharpest analysis for Gold. R reporting, exit analysis and max potential P&L are Gold features, as are liquidity reports, which depend on fee data. Even MFE and MAE need Silver at minimum.

Deepvue’s single plan includes R multiples, exit efficiency, MFE and MAE for stock trades. Add a stop and each trade, open or closed, gets an R value, and Advanced Metrics adds SQN. Hover over any figure and Deepvue shows how it’s calculated.

Performance by Playbook app ranking each setup by average R, win rate, profit factor and P&L
Performance by Playbook app ranking each setup by average R, win rate, profit factor and P&L

The Playbook, Tag and Emotion performance views, along with Symbol and Day of Week, show which setups pay and which ones cost you. Before the next entry, the Position Size Calculator converts your stop and risk per trade into a share count.

Live Open Risk for Positions You Hold for Weeks

A swing trade can stay open for a month, so Deepvue’s Portfolio apps track it while it’s live. Open Risk adds up the total you’d lose if each stop triggered, in dollars and as a percentage of your equity, next to the heat you started with.

Near Stops lists the positions closest to their exits. Tradervue tracks risk too, though reporting in R is a Gold feature, and Deepvue adds an Equity Curve against SPY and a Risk and Consistency view. The journal features guide walks through each Dashboard app.

Trade Review on the Charts You Research On

Open a trade in Deepvue and it loads on the chart workspace you research with, every buy and sell marked on the bars and the fills listed underneath. Add a plan note, a lesson note, an emotion and a playbook, then hit Save and next to move on.

Tradervue plots your entries and exits on a TradingView chart, which works for checking executions. Deepvue’s charts bring 85+ drawing tools, 60+ indicators and as many as eight synced charts in one layout, so you review on the setup you scan with.

That review loop clicks faster on screen than on paper. In the launch webinar, Deepvue’s team opens the Dashboard, moves into the Trades tab and reviews a trade from the chart through to the notes.

An AI Journal Agent That Explains Your Numbers

After a year of journaling, the hard part is turning stats into a change in behavior. A trader who switched away from Tradervue summed up what they were after:

“less time staring at numbers and more time actually seeing the pattern”

A trader on r/Daytrading

Deepvue’s Journal Agent studies your stats and executions, then answers with what it noticed, your largest opportunity and a next step to try. Start from a suggested prompt or ask your own question by typing or speaking.

Nothing goes to the AI until you opt in. When you do, it receives anonymized numbers and symbols with no name or account details attached, your notes stay private, and the AI provider stores none of it. Tradervue lists no AI feature on any plan.

Research Tools Around Your Journal

Tradervue picks up once a trade exists. Deepvue also handles the work that comes first, and its research tools share an account with your journal:

  • •Screener. Scans across 1,150+ data points, 568 of them streaming live, with presets based on top traders’ screens.
  • •Theme Tracker. Curated market themes ranked across five timeframes.
  • •Earnings Calendar. Each reporting week day by day, with results graded as they arrive.
  • •Heat Map. Sectors and industries drawn as tiles, green for gains and red for losses.
  • •Watchlists and alerts. Lists of up to 1,500 symbols, plus price and technical alerts on desktop and mobile.

The tools hub adds the Stats Table and an Economic Calendar, and the visualizations hub covers bubble charts, mini charts and performance charts.

“there is no better scanner out there than deepvue”

A trader on Reddit

Deepvue’s Journal on iOS and Android

On iOS and Android, Deepvue’s apps carry the whole journal, Dashboard, Trades, review and Notebook included, synced with the browser version. Check open risk on your phone before the bell and finish the day’s notes at your desk.

Search for a Tradervue mobile app and you’ll come up empty. StockBrokers.com’s Tradervue review says it plainly, “there’s no Tradervue app,” so on a phone the Tradervue trading journal means a mobile browser.

“Love the platform, love the app.”

Lock In Black Friday Pricing From Your Phone

Open the Black Friday offer on your phone and pay $490 for the year, not $990. Once you’re in, install the iOS or Android app and sign in.

Tradervue Pricing vs Deepvue’s Plan

Tradervue pricing runs in three tiers. Basic is free, Silver costs $29 or $29.95 monthly and Gold $49 or $49.95, depending on which Tradervue page you read.

Tradervue doesn’t publish an annual price, but StockBrokers.com reports yearly billing of $323.46 for Silver and $479.52 for Gold.

Until December 4 at 11:59 PM ET, the Black Friday offer gets you twelve months of Core + Journal for $490 rather than $990. That rate carries over to every renewal for as long as your subscription stays active.

Join by November 12 and you also get two live masterclasses free, Momentum Setups Mastery and Sell Rules Mastery, a $594 value. The Black Friday plan also includes the December Deepvue Live Bootcamp, eight live webinars from December 7 to 14.

For stock traders who track every trade in R, Tradervue Gold costs $49.95 per month, or $599.40 per year. That’s more than Deepvue’s $490 annual price, which also includes a stock screener, charts, and mobile apps.

Even at the discounted annual price of $479.52 reported by StockBrokers.com, Tradervue costs just $10.48 less than Deepvue. Pricing has been a concern for years.

“the prices kept rising so I built my own personal app”

A trader on r/Daytrading

The Black Friday lock takes that worry off the table. Your renewal stays at $490 while you’re subscribed, and the lock covers the full Core + Journal plan, so the journal is part of the price.

Tradervue Reviews From Trustpilot, Reddit and Review Sites

Tradervue review scores depend on where you look. StockBrokers.com rates it 4.5 out of 5 and praises its analytics, while Tradervue’s page on Trustpilot is small and mostly 1 star.

That Trustpilot profile shows 11 reviews and a 2.2 score. Most of the 1 star reviews describe trouble canceling or unwanted charges, and because Tradervue hasn’t claimed the profile, none of them has a reply.

Common Tradervue Complaints

Billing and the interface come up most, from unhappy customers and from reviewers who like the product overall.

“There is no cancel button as the website state to select the free plan.”

Is Journal Software Worth Paying For Over a Spreadsheet?

Plenty of traders ask that before paying for any journal. A spreadsheet user who started an r/Daytrading thread on Tradervue put the cost question bluntly:

“it could be a waste to spend money (especially recurring) on a service”

A trader on r/Daytrading

The replies kept landing on time saved. Even a commenter who went back to Excel after Tradervue granted the imports that much:

“you save a lot of time importing trades to Tradevue vs manual logging.”

A commenter in the same thread on r/Daytrading

Deepvue answers both halves. Broker sync removes the manual logging, and the Black Friday lock keeps the recurring cost at $490 every year you stay.

Deepvue or Tradervue: Which One Fits Your Trading?

Pick Deepvue

If your growth stock trades last days or weeks and you want R multiples, open risk and AI on one plan, next to the screener and charts you scan with, plus the complete journal on your phone.

Tradervue fits

If you journal futures, forex or options, only need a free tier for a few trades a month, or work with a mentor who needs read only access to your account.

Our Take

For growth stock traders, Deepvue wins the Deepvue vs Tradervue comparison. Broker sync, R multiples and exit stats come on one plan with live open risk, an opt in AI agent and real mobile apps, and the research tools Tradervue lacks are included, at $490 for the year this Black Friday.

Tradervue stays the better fit for multi asset day traders and anyone set on a free tier. To compare more journals, see our Tradervue alternatives list, our Deepvue vs TradeZella breakdown and the TradeZella alternatives roundup.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which is better, Deepvue or Tradervue?

Deepvue is better than Tradervue if you trade growth stocks over days or weeks, because its trading journal includes R multiples, exit stats, open risk, AI and mobile apps beside a screener and charts, for $490 a year through the Black Friday offer. Tradervue suits day traders journaling futures, forex or options.

Is Tradervue free?

Tradervue is free on its Basic plan, but only for 30 trades per calendar month, based on when you import them. Broker Sync, MFE and MAE, CSV exports and multiple accounts need Silver or Gold. Deepvue doesn’t offer a free plan, though Black Friday brings a full year down to $490 from $990.

How much does Tradervue cost per month?

Per month, Tradervue Silver costs $29 to $29.95 and Gold $49 to $49.95, since its own pages list both figures, while Basic is free for 30 trades. StockBrokers.com puts annual billing at $323.46 and $479.52. Deepvue is $99 a month, or $490 for twelve months on the Black Friday offer.

Is Tradervue a good trading journal?

Tradervue is a good trading journal for active traders who want deep reports across stocks, options, futures and forex, and Reddit users describe its imports as easy. The drawbacks are the 30 trade free cap, Gold only R reporting, and no AI or mobile app, which the Deepvue Trading Journal covers for stock traders.

Does Tradervue have a mobile app?

No, there’s no Tradervue mobile app for iPhone or Android, so phone users open it in a web browser. StockBrokers.com’s review confirms there’s no Tradervue app. Deepvue’s journal works inside its own iOS and Android apps, and anything you log on your phone shows up on desktop too.

Who owns Tradervue?

SureSwift Capital owns Tradervue. It acquired the journal in 2021 from Greg Reinacker, who founded Tradervue in 2011, and SureSwift’s name is on Tradervue’s copyright line. SureSwift runs a portfolio of software businesses, while Deepvue builds its own platform and takes feature requests from members right inside the app.

What is Tradervue?

Tradervue is a web based trading journal, launched in 2011, that imports trades from 80+ platforms and then charts, tags and reports on them across stocks, options, futures and forex. It also offers trade sharing and mentor access. Deepvue covers the same journaling for stocks and adds research tools and mobile apps.

Which brokers does Tradervue support?

The count of Tradervue supported brokers depends on where you read it: 80+ integrations on tradervue.com, 200+ on its platforms list and 307+ on its journal template. Names include Interactive Brokers, Schwab, Fidelity, Robinhood and Webull. Free accounts upload files, and Broker Sync misses some brokers. Deepvue’s broker sync covers Fidelity, Schwab, IBKR, Robinhood, Webull and more.

Can I move my Tradervue trades to Deepvue?

Yes, you can move your Tradervue stock trades to Deepvue. On Silver or Gold, click Download CSV in Tradervue’s Trades section and upload it through Deepvue’s CSV import, which maps the columns. Options, futures and forex stay behind. If you’re on Tradervue’s free plan, connect your broker and Deepvue pulls your full history, as the setup guide shows.

What is Deepvue’s pricing?

Deepvue pricing is one plan, Deepvue Core + Journal, at $990 a year or $99 month to month, covering the Trading Journal, screener, charts, watchlists, AI and mobile apps. Through December 4, Black Friday pricing cuts the year to $490 and holds renewals at that price while you’re subscribed.
